No more uncomfortable “bite and hold” film, no more waiting for images to develop. Digital X-rays are here to stay. Dentists love them, and patients do, too.
Here’s why:
- Comfort. With digital X-rays the image is captured by a sensor, not film. And that sensor, while roughly the same size as dental film, has patented Comfortable Corners, which means no sharp edges.
- Safety. The sensor is much more sensitive to X-rays than conventional film, so your exposure to radiation is reduced by as much as 90%.
- Improved clarity. Regular X-ray prints use 16 shades of gray. With digital technology, we have over a hundred shades to work with. Not only that, but we can enlarge images, rotate them, or otherwise enhance them at the click of a mouse, which makes it a phenomenal diagnostic tool, and enlightening for patients, too. We can even print out copies for you to take home.
And at Hi-Tech dentistry, all your X-ray images, as well as all your other records, are entered into our chairside computers for quick and reliable integration and easy reference.
